Seattle beer festival pouring ahead in 2020

Seattle’s largest beer festival is set to go ahead as planned this year.

The Fremont Oktoberfest, ranked as one of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations in the world, is set to take place once again in September.

As every good Oktoberfest should, the Fremont event features more than 100 beers and ciders from more than 40 breweries. Many are local Washington-based independent companies.

There is much more to Fremont Oktoberfest than beer. A variety of games make for a fun weekend including axe-throwing, a Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest, and a Stein-Hoisting Contest.

This Oktoberfest also has a furry twist. Sunday is “Dogtoberfest” where visitors are encouraged to bring their canine companions. There’s a dog modeling contest and dogs are welcome to join in the football fun Sunday afternoon at Fremont Studios where everyone can watch the Seattle Seahawks NFL game. Dogs must be kept on leashes at all times.

Single-day tickets are between $25 and $45. The more expensive tickets come with free beer samples and a souvenir mini-mug carrying the festival’s Logo Design. Attendees must be 21 years-old and up to purchase a ticket.

Fremont Oktoberfest runs from 5:00 pm to midnight on Friday, September 20; noon to midnight Saturday, September 21; and noon to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 22. The festival entrance is at 3503 Phinney Ave. in Seattle.
