What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Pre-Christmas run helps Seattle residents get in spirit

The Seattle Jingle Bell Run helps to get runners ready for the big holiday. This event is part of the Run the Parks series, the last for 2018.

This event is a race, and the 5k portion is timed. It is advertised as a way to get outside and have family time as well during the busy season. There will be two races: one at 10 am and one at noon. Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome at both events.

Registration is still open. Tickets cost $15 December 18 through 22, and $20 day of the event. Those who register before midnight tonight will be able to pick up their packets early, at Metro Parks main office on 19th street. Early pickup will be on Friday December 21 from 8 am to 5 pm. Those who register later will receive their bibs on the day of the race.

Many racers dress up or otherwise show their festive spirit during this event. Parking is available on the street around the perimeter of the park. The park itself covers about 27 acres.

This kind of event often takes advantage of printing services. They print bibs for the racers, and often have pre-event leaflets or flyer printing as well. Sometimes they have maps or information on future races. This race is currently scheduled for December 24.
