What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Online session on offer for Seattle parents-to-be

Seattle parents to be who would like to hit the ground running may way to attend an online class that will be focused on new-born care.

Great Starts has prepared a virtual workshop for new moms and dads, and it will address the concerns that often come up during the first eight weeks. It may be taken on its own or as a complement to another prenatal class, and anyone who wants to register by phone is asked to call 206-789-0883.

The participants will learn who to expect in their new-born, including their senses and temperament. Communication and crying will be addressed and comforting measures such as swaddling will be discussed. Feeding, diapering, bathing and overall health are all on the agenda, and the run time for the activity is two and a half hours. The registration fee is $60, and it is being presented by the Parent Trust for Washington Children.

A virtual workshop makes it easy for the attendees to learn from wherever they have a Wi-Fi connection, but they may still benefit from receiving hard copies of the materials presented. These can be prepared by stationery printers to be packaged up and sent out ahead of an activity.

This online introduction to new-born care is scheduled for February 9, and everyone is asked to log in by 6:30 pm. It will conclude at 9:00 pm.
