Meat and cheese celebrated at Seattle festival

Locals can dust off their charcuterie board and tasting glass and prepare their own dream plate at the Seattle Cheese and Meat Festival next month.

The festival features vendors offering cheeses, jerkies, preserves, olives, and even oysters and other shellfish.

Attendees are greeted with an empty charcuterie board and tasting glass that can be filled with a variety of food and beverages. Besides the artisan meats and cheeses, beverages include wines, beers, kombuchas, cider, and spirits.

Proceeds go to the Washington State Cheesemakers Association (WASCA), which actively promotes, collaborates, and educates the public on the increasing diversity of the cheese industry in Washington.

There are also two educational seminars. One is The History of Cheese, which takes place before the first tasting at 10:45 am, and the second is The Science of Artisan Food and Beverage, which happens between the tastings at 2:00 pm.

Tickets for the seminars are $35, and for the tastings are $65. A $150 ticket gives access to everything. The festival also takes place in Victoria and Vancouver, Canada.

There are 11 vendors scheduled to be at the Seattle event. Vendors at events such as these can use printing services for Menus, and use brochure printing and business card printing services.

The Seattle Cheese and Meat Festival takes place Saturday, April 25 at McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer Street in Seattle. The tasting sessions begin at 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
