Local filmmaking challenge to return
The Seattle International Film Festival, an annual festival that takes place in Seattle, Washington and helps people connect through unique film experiences, recently announced that they will be reintroducing the Fly Filmmaking Challenge for the upcoming festival.
The Fly Filmmaking Challenge, which was not used at the festival for the past three years, sees directors tasked with creating a documentary around a creative professional that lives in their area. These documentaries will allow viewers to get an in-depth understanding as to how certain industries work and what creative professionals must do in order to thrive in their industry of choice. Six filmmakers will be showing their documentary to the festival audience later this year.
The executive director of the Seattle International Film Festival, Sarah Wilke, said:
The Seattle International Film Festival will be taking place from May 17 to June 10. For more information regarding the Challenge, or to see the graphic design on the banner for the event, visit the Seattle Patch website. To purchase tickets, visit the SIFF website.

"Annually, through the Seattle International Film Festival, we as Seattleites get a chance to see something completely unique; the power of film to create a connection between audiences and filmmakers with a shared story at the heart of it all. I can't think of a better way to kick it off our festival announcements than with the revival of the Fly Filmmaking Challenge."
