What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Festival to take over Georgetown area this June

The Georgetown Carnival is returning to Seattle in a couple of weeks, presented by the Georgetown Merchants Association.

The event will feature the ever popular power tool races. There will also be music from groups such as Missionary Position, Tom Price Desert Classic, Mommy Long Legs, and The Chasers.

A number of sideshows will present unique entertainment like the Sanca acrobats. Artists like Chris McMullen, Equinox Studios, and Oxbow will be hosting interactive artistic activities as well.

In addition, guests can enjoy interactive arts, food for purchase, a beer garden and After Hours at the Mix. Performers at the after hours event include Toe Tag and Die Nasty.

The carnival falls on the second Saturday of the month, which is also when the Georgetown Art Attack takes place. This monthly event opens the doors of more than 40 downtown businesses that host a variety of musical and art activities. This includes photographic exhibitions, hootenannies, and fundraising events.

This event is one of the many art events that take place in Seattle every month of which the public should be made aware. Local print companies often help to advertise them by providing marketing products like brochures and flyers that can be distributed throughout the city.

The Georgetown Carnival will be held on June 13 from 12:00 noon until 10:00 pm.
