The 8th annual International Children’s Friendship Festival is taking place in Seattle in the middle of April.
The event is a celebration of International Children’s Day, and a presentation of the Turkish American Cultural Association of Washington (TACAWA).
The festival is set to provide a variety of youth activities, but will likely appeal to people of all ages. There will be cultural performances, exhibits and an arts showcase. The arts showcase is open to children between the ages of 3 and 12, and applications will be accepted until April 1. This year’s theme is ‘Friendship, What Does It Mean to You?’ and paintings, drawings, 3-D art, and photography will be accepted. The public will vote on Best of Show.
Performances are expected to feature music and dance. At last year’s festival, there were representatives from many cultures, including Mexico, India, Ukraine, Ireland, and Indonesia, and performers included choirs, cultural organizations, and folklore groups.
There will also be crafts activities for children, as well as games.
Organizers of this Seattle event will no doubt work with a flyer printing firm to spread the word.
The International Children’s Friendship Festival will be held at the Seattle Center from April 15 to 16. Admission is free of charge. To find out more about the festival and the arts showcase, visit the official event website.
