Annual festival celebrates Polish culture

The Seattle Festal – Polish Festival is taking place next month.

The festival celebrates the culture and tradition of Poland; this year it is concentrating on Warsaw and Upper Silesia.

Guests will be treated to traditional dance performances, music and cultural exhibits. The musical acts will include Pawel Checinski and Warsaw Pearl and folk dance groups such as Mazovia and the Lajkonk Polish Ensemble will also be performing.

There are set to be several workshops taking place on subjects such as pirogue making and pickling, screenings of Polish films and children’s activities. In addition, there is set to be a talent show; participants auditioned in June.

Food will also play a big part in the festival and guests will have the opportunity to try many traditional foods and desserts, as well as beer.

Arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand to sell their Polish-related handmade items such as jewelry, pottery and ceramics.

This annual festival attracts thousands of visitors from the Seattle area who find out about it from Brochures and Flyers that are distributed in the community.

The Seattle Festal – Polish Festival will be held at the Seattle Center on July 8 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Admission is free of charge and food and drinks are available for purchase. For the most current information about this event, visit the official website.
