What's Happening in Kent, WA…

Summit to work over the importance of manufacturing

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) is presenting its annual Manufacturing Summit later this month, right here in Kent.

This event is aimed at those in the manufacturing industry and those who do business with them. Attendees will be welcomed by Michael Sanske and Robert Bleu of the AWB. They will learn about the findings of the 2014 McGladray Monitor from Wendy Sancewich, hear about the Governor's Red Tape Index Initiative, and find out about the AWB Institute's Manufacturing Career Awareness Campaign. There will also be information on a ‘Buy America’ study, which was conducted by Walmart, as well as the presentation of the 2014 Manufacturing Excellence Awards.

Kellie Johnson of ACE Clearwater Enterprises will be the keynote speaker during the sit-down luncheon; she will be talking about what manufacturing means to her.

This event should attract a large number of business leaders from the Kent area and will no doubt be an excellent networking opportunity. Digital business card printing firms may find an increase in orders leading up to the summit; those planning to attend will want to make sure their cards are in tip-top condition.

The AWB Manufacturing Summit is taking place at the Showare Center on October 28 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. Fees are $145 for AWB members and $175 for non-members; lunch only is $60. Contact Karlee Keith to find out more.
