Fun runners warm up in Kent

Runners will be able to celebrate the holidays with a fun run.

Kent’s Christmas Rush Fun Run and Walk for 2025 has changed this year. First, the 10K will follow a new course. The run will start on 240th, head south on Russell Road and then go west to Meeker and turn right. The route then crosses the bridge and goes north on Frager Road to the pedestrian bridge. Runners will then cross the bridge into Van Doren’s Landing Park and continue north to the turnaround. The return route goes south on the river’s east side, back to the finish line. Runners will be moving clockwise and should stay left.

The 5K is an out-and-back with modifications. It starts at the same place as the 10K and follows that route but does not go into the park. Runners will turn around at the indicated spot and then cross the footbridge to the golf course. After crossing, runners will make their way north to the trail beside the river and return to the starting point.

Pets are not allowed on the course, but strollers are welcome. However, anyone with a stroller should move to the back of the runners.

The race is set for Saturday, December 13, with the 10K beginning at 9.50 am and the 5K at 10.00 am, and youngsters 13 and under are free. When they set up races like this, organizers can use banner printing to create markers for the course.
