Student art walk opening reception
Kent, Washington will be welcoming student artists from the Kent School district by hosting a opening reception to be held at the Centennial Center Gallery on Friday, March 16, 2012 between the hours of 5 pm and 7 pm. The Centennial Center Gallery is located at 400 West Gowe Street, in Kent Washington.
This year’s opening receptions highlights the creative endeavors of more than 450 students who will have sketches, watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed medium artwork on display at more than twenty downtown businesses, as well as the Centennial Center Gallery. The artwork on display is often but a mere representation of the student’s overall art. This is an annual event and helps promote the artwork of the students.
This event is sponsored by the Kent Arts Council, a group that features and spotlights up and coming artists, various classes, and numerous hands-on demonstrations that the public is welcome to attend. Besides featuring emerging artist, the gallery brings in professionals to show various artistic techniques and to speak about their careers. If you wish to support local art, drop by the gallery and pick up some information.
This event is open to the public and people of all ages are encouraged to attend. Local printing companies have prepared flyers which have been posted at various venues through the community and the students are eagerly looking forward to meeting those who attend this event, so come out and support your local students.
