Nerds unite in Kent
The Kent Downtown Partnership has recently announced the upcoming Meeker Street Nerd party. The event recognizes how smart, fun, and creative the people known as “nerds” can be.
The event is designed to promote the local businesses located in the downtown area of Kent. Artists, craftspeople, authors, and small businesses who specialize in the specific cultures of science fiction and fantasy will be on hand to meet and greet, as well as display their products.
One of the participating entities will be the Retro Emporium, featuring modern as well as vintage collectibles and related goods. Fantasy, mystery, and sci-fi books will be available, along with video games and comics.
Big WU Fitness is presenting SealUG for Lego enthusiasts. The Lego creations will be intricate and large. Some of the displays take hundreds of hours to build.
Sweet Themes Bakery will provide sweet treats. The Pied Piper Pub will offer trivia and some nerd-themed drinks. A cosplay costume contest will be one of the main attractions for the party.
Business cards are often ordered from local print shops by vendors and participants of community events. Distributing business cards conveys contact information and can result in future sales at events like this.
