Kent looking forward to Splash
The Fourth of July Splash is returning this year in Kent. The annual event has been a much-anticipated summer activity for decades.
Along with the thrill of the fireworks show, there will be family-friendly components including games and art projects beginning at noon until 5:00 p.m. A community showcase of live performances is also on the agenda and the organizers are looking for local performers to participate. The stage times range from 30 minutes to an hour and are not paid gigs.
Vendor and activity booths add to the fun. A range of items, food and other activities will be available. Applications for booth space may be submitted via the event website. Food trucks are also encouraged to apply. Vendors often partner with local print shops for needed marketing supplies such as business cards or flyers. Flyer printing can be done quickly and in any quantity needed.
The fireworks grand finale will take place at 10:00 p.m. Personal fireworks are not allowed.
Edward Jones is the Fourth of July Splash partner. Other partners for the Splash event include Republic Services, Seattle T-Birds, Kent Lions Club, Boy Scout Troop 827, CJ Marine and Blinker Tavern.
The 2021 Fourth of July Splash will be held at Lake Meridian Park located at 14800 SE 272nd. Shuttle buses will run from each designated parking area to the event every 20 minutes.
