Kent kids to get day of arts
The Kent Parks Department has scheduled the Kids’ Arts Day event for early spring. The event brings children the opportunity to explore art through various activities.
The event is organized by the Kent Arts Commission, along with the City of Kent Parks, Recreation and Community Services. Funding entities include Smith Brothers Dairy, Kent Community Foundation, Kent Lions Club, and 4Culture.
Organizers are currently looking for artists to assist with projects. New and creative ideas are welcome to bring excitement and educational opportunities to the participants. Around 100 volunteers are also being sought to assist with the many activities and events taking place.
Performers from across the state will provide entertainment throughout the day. Community groups, bands, and choirs from Kent and surrounding areas will be onsite, many of them youngsters.
Posters are often used to highlight areas of activities and interest. Poster printing can be handled efficiently by local print shops. They should be printed in full color, featuring images and relevant content to attract attention.
The Kent Kids’ Arts Day will take place Saturday, March 13 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. It will be presented at the Kent Commons located at 525 Fourth Avenue North. Tickets are $10 for children. Adults do not have to pay an entry fee unless they plan to work hands-on with the projects. Children under two years of age are free. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be available for purchase.
