What's Happening in Kent, WA…

Kent is on the run

The Kent Cornucopia Days 5K will take place this summer.

The event is part of the So King Challenge presented by Outpatient Physical Therapy. Participants have the choice to run in three of four races, with the opportunity to take home a medal. The awarding takes place at The Summer’s End 5K/10K.

On the day of the race, registration will start at 7:30 am. The race will start promptly at 9:00 am and will move in slots of 30 people with one minute between each, with the runners who are fastest going first. Awards go to the top finishes based on age groups, along with overall winners.

The race route has been adjusted this year due to King County building up a levy near Van Doren’s Park. The course will begin at Three Friends Fishing Hole on Russel Road and go north around the Briscoe Park near Tukwila.

Banners are effective in helping direct runners and spectators through outdoor races. They are large with bold font and can be easily seen. Banner printing can contain directional information, facilities and parking location, or sponsor recognition.

The event will take place on July 10. Fees are $15 or $30, which includes a shirt. Courtesy of Kent Bowl, runners aged 60 and older can run at no charge. Registration may be handled via the race website.
