What's Happening in Kent, WA…

Fabulous festival in Kent

A hugely popular event is returning to Kent for the third year.

Kent Cornucopia Days are presented by the Kent Lions Club, and are fun for the whole family. At the three-day event, visitors will find a car show, a street fair with both commercial and handcrafting vendors, and food vendors. Food purveyors will be found along the streets as well as in the Food Court, and several downtown restaurants will participate in the fun. A parade highlights the entire festival.

There is a change this year for youngsters who want to participate. Instead of being separate, they will have a chance to ride in the Grand Parade. They are encouraged to decorate their bicycles and practice their best waves to the crowd before they start. Floats will be taking part, along with the Seattle All City Band, and clowns and pirates from SEAFAIR, with royalty including King Neptune and the Prime Minister expected to attend. SEAFAIR is a huge, 10-week-long celebration that takes place in numerous venues across Seattle, featuring hydroplane races, fireworks, live music, and an appearance by the Blue Angels.

Other dignitaries who will attend the parade are Mayor Dana Ralph, Kent City Council members, and Kent Old Time’s King & Queen Royalty for the Day.

Cornucopia Days is scheduled for July 12, 13, and 14, with the parade taking place on Sunday, July 14. Organizers of this type of event often use poster printing techniques to create suitable advertising.
