Enjoying spring beverages in Kent
Spring is on the way, and communities around the country are celebrating, often with festivals and crawls featuring food and drink.
Such an event is coming up in Kent, as the city has announced its upcoming Cider & Ale Trail that takes place in the city’s historic downtown. Participants will be able to enjoy tasting ciders, non-alcoholic drinks, and craft brews from the local area as they stroll through the city. Live music is also planned.
At present, the participating cideries and breweries that are participating are 4 Good Hard Selzer, Lost Wood Brewing, Top-Down Brewing, Cole Street Brewing, Greenwood Cider, 2Towns Ciderhouse, and the Half Lion Brewery, with more expected to be added soon.
People taking part are encouraged to also check out the unique restaurants and shops they will pass as they visit the tasting spots. Many restaurants will be offering specials.
Music will be provided by Klyntel, a Seattle-based band that specializes in rhythm and blues/soul, funk, hip-hop, and fusion jazz. They are well received by many that attend their shows because of their skilled musicianship.
Tickets are $30 in advance, and $40 on the night of the event. Ten tastings are included in the ticket price, as are disposable gloves, a program guide, and a wrist band. The Cider & Ale Trail starts at 202 West Gowe Street at 6pm on Friday, April 28. The fun winds down at 9pm. The program guides for this event can be created using brochure printing.
