What's Happening in Kent, WA…

Downtown Kent festival goes ghoulish

Downtown Kent will be full of ghosts, witches, and goblins for the Kent Street of Treats Autumn Festival.

The annual family-friendly event invites residents to dress up in their Halloween costumes and head to Kent’s historic downtown district. Various downtown merchants and businesses will be open and decorated, and will be handing out candy to kids.

There will be other fun activities as well, including face painting, a costume contest and a photo stand.

The event is organized by the Kent Downtown Partnership and is designed to get more people to shop, eat and play downtown. The group is made up of business owners and community leaders and has been supporting downtown businesses for more than 25 years.

The event is free for everyone, although residents are encouraged to register online before the event and get a ticket. Online registration is available on the Kent Downtown Partnership website or Eventbrite.

The event will happen rain or shine. Ticket holders are reminded to bring weatherproof bags to fill with sweet treats. Businesses that participate in events such as this one can use local printing services for brochures and flyers to hand out to visitors.

The Kent Street of Treats Autumn Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Residents need to check in at the corner of 2nd Ave S & W. Meeker Street.
