Colorful event arrives near Kent
An upcoming event should prove to be fun and colorful for everyone involved.
The Indian festival Holi is popular throughout the world. Sometimes called the “Festival of Spring,” the “Festival of Colors,” or the “Festival of Love,” Holi is a way to welcome spring, enjoy being outside in warmer weather, and throw colored powders on friends, family, or even total strangers, provided they agree. Wicked Karma has organized the upcoming event.
The main purpose of Holi is to celebrate the changing seasons, as exemplified by the colored Gulal powders people toss at one another. Everyone is encouraged to wear white so the colors will appear more vivid. In addition to the powder, the event will feature DJ Gabbar playing Bollywood music, and a packet of colored powders is included with the ticket.
DJ Gabbar, who is from India, is a specialist in Bollywood beats, but appreciates genres and music from all over the world. He often mixes top 40, Bollywood, Latin hits, and masala music. Organizers of this type of event can use poster printing to create colorful advertising appropriate to the occasion.
Holi by the Ocean is scheduled for May 14, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm, at Saltwater State Park on 8th Place South in Des Moines, Washington, a short distance from Kent. The event is suitable for people of all ages, and children aged two and under will be admitted free. Ticket packages for families are available.
