Bazaar to offer unique holiday gifts for all
The 30th annual Kent Commons Holiday Bazaar is taking place over two days this December.
More than 100 vendors are chosen to take part in this event each year. All of their items must be handmade and will include jewelry, clothing, ceramics, and holiday decorations, providing some gift ideas for guests’ friends and family members. In addition, there will be musical entertainment, food concessions, and drinks for sale.
This event is not just an opportunity to finish Christmas shopping but a chance for local artists to make their names known in the city. Vendors for the show were first notified in May whether or not they had been chosen, and applications will soon be accepted for the 2015 show. Fees are $100 for a 9 x 9 foot space plus $10 for electricity.
As stated in the information given to those who wish to become vendors, organizers go all out in the advertising of this annual Kent event. They invest in printed materials such as flyers and posters from local printing companies. They then send these items out by direct mail, are listed in holiday guides, and advertise in area newspapers.
The Holiday Bazaar will be held at the Kent Commons Community Center from December 5-6. Admission is free. To learn more about the event, contact Chris Jordan at 253-856-5000.
