What's Happening in Kent, WA…

Annual street fair returns to Kent this summer

Kent Cornucopia Days is taking place for four days next month, presented by the Kent Lions Club.

There will be events taking place all over the downtown area during the festival, and some of the locations include the Kent Library and Burlington Green Park. There will be a street fair with vendors selling arts and crafts, general merchandise, and food. The grand parade will take place on the last day of the festival, and will travel along 4th Avenue from Saar to James. With a beer garden, carnival rides, two stages of musical entertainment, and the crowning of Miss Cornucopia and Royal Ambassador, there looks to be plenty to keep attendees entertained.

Also taking place is the 15th annual Dragon Boat Races. Proceeds from this go to support the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing. Entry fees are $650 for a recreational team and $400 for a youth team. Participants compete to win the Lion's Cup. In addition, there is a soccer tournament for the Kent Cornucopia Cup.

This is a popular event in Kent, and it is likely organizers have been working with local print companies to remind people that it is on the horizon again.

Kent Cornucopia Days will be held from July 9 to 12, with the grand parade to be held on July 12 at 2:00 pm. To find out more information about this event, call 253-852-LION.
