Vintage railcar brings holiday spirit to Chehalis

A vintage railcar is being opened and operated in the spirit of the holidays, and Chehalis residents are invited to hop aboard for a magical experience.

The Polar Express Train Ride is preparing to embark on a memorable trip to the North Pole, allowing passengers to ride in comfort while enjoying the charm and character of the vintage railcar. The journey will be set to the soundtrack of the motion picture, where children and their parents can relive the magic of the book and movie.

After boarding, participants will enjoy access to refreshing beverages like hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Treats and snacks will also be available to guests on the Polar Express. The book, "The Polar Express" by Chris Van Allsburg, will be read aloud as the journey unfolds. Flyer printing is an effective way to promote such events in the community while generating interest in the event.

Santa’s helpers and the big man himself will attend the holiday train ride, giving all children a silver bell, the first gift of Christmas. The trips are 75 minutes round-trip. Carols will be sung in each car on the return to the depot.

The journey will embark from the Chehalis Centralia Railroad and Museum. The train rides will run from November 15th through December 21st. Departures are at 2:00pm, 4:30pm, and 7:00pm. Coach tickets are $66 per person online.
