Children in Chehalis will have a nature-based learning opportunity to look forward to this summer, with the session taking a closer look at the butterflies native to the area.
The Kids Love Butterflies nature experience is coming to a Chehalis venue soon with the goal of opening the doors to the amazing world of butterflies. The experience will give attendees the tips and knowledge necessary to learn how to attract these beautiful winged creatures to their yards and gardens.
The experience is being organized by the Master Gardener Foundation of Lewis County and led by experienced gardener Julie Pirtle. Attendees will learn all about the habitats that butterflies thrive in, the role they play in such habitats for things like pollination, and the life cycles that butterflies experience. Flyer printing is a cost-effective way for organizers to connect with area residents and promote the learning experience.
Pirtle will lead guests to a certified monarch butterfly habitat to provide an immersive learning lesson. Attendees will get a closer look at the native plant species that they can plant and the sustainable gardening they can use for the best results.
The Providence Place Demo Garden in Chehalis will be the host site for the learning experience, which opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 13th. Interested parties are encouraged to pre-register three days in advance to ensure space and materials, and registration is open online.
