Barn bash gets Chehalis residents dancing

A barn dance is set to kick off next month near Chehalis as part of the Southwest Washington Fair, and area dancing enthusiasts are encouraged to join the festivities.

The 2025 Barn Bash, organized by the Southwest Washington Fair and Fair Partners, will open its doors to area residents looking for a fun way to celebrate the arrival of summer. The dance will double as a fundraiser, with the goal of raising money to support youth premiums at the fair.

Attendees will enjoy listening and dancing to live music from area artists and bands, including Chris Guenther. Guests can also participate in line dancing tutorials led by Melanie of Country Chicks, who serves as the dance instructor. A silent auction will be held by the local 4-H and FFA groups, giving visitors the chance to win. Flyer printing is an effective grassroots method for promoting community events and increasing attendance.

Guests 21 and over will enjoy access to the beer garden and refreshing beverages, though they are reminded to drink responsibly and that a designated driver should be arranged. Food will also be available for purchase to ensure all attendees have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in neighboring Centralia will host the 2025 Barn Bash on Saturday, June 21st, starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 11:00 PM. General admission tickets are $10 per guest online.
