Two first responders from Tomball recognized for heroic efforts
The Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce has recognized two firefighters from Tomball as the April Public Safety Officers of the month at a luncheon recently.

Driver Operator Andrey Bolanos and Lieutenant Mason Allen of Tomball Fire Rescue were recognized for a wildfire response near Fredericksburg. They had been deployed to help with a wildfire that covered close to 10,000 acres. When their relief crew arrived at the scene, they began to travel back home but, on the way, they encountered a property in immediate danger from flames that were spreading quickly. Next to the property, a shop had already been lost. Rather than returning home, they decided immediately to stay and rescue the residence.
There was no further destruction to the residence thanks to their efforts. The homeowner expressed her gratitude for their efforts and called them her “Tomball Firefighter Heroes.”
