Spring takes place as usual, but annual celebration cancelled

Exhibitors and festival sponsors for the 28th Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival have been notified that the City, in order to remain complaint with county, state and federal guidelines, has cancelled this year’s annual spring celebration.

The Festival, which had been scheduled for May 15-17, 2020 is one of many Texas public events to be canceled due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus and likely did not come as a surprise to most area residents. Cancellation of events such as this one not only slows the spread of the virus but also frees up resources that might be needed elsewhere.

Remember. the promotional Pens and other products generally handed out during the festival may be missing, but spring will continue regardless.

Advanced ticket holders can receive a full refund. Online ticket purchases will be automatically refunded via Etix; others can receive their refunds by check by sending their name, ticket and return Mailing address to the Accounting Department, City of Richardson.

Groups or individuals who made travel or hotel accommodations to attend the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival are advised to reach out immediately to their providers to explore refund options.

In addition to the announcement about the festival cancellation, Richardson City Council continued its Declaration of Disaster for a Local Health Emergency. Residents are asked to shelter in place and “non-essential" business operations are closed till April 30, 2020 unless otherwise announced.
