The city of Richardson is gearing up for its 52nd Christmas Parade.
This year's theme is "Holidays Around the World," and it promises to bring global festive traditions to the heart of Richardson. E very year, proceeds from the parade support the Network of Community Ministries, a nonprofit that aids residents in need.
The parade will feature awards in several categories, recognizing entries that showcase creativity, enthusiasm, and adherence to the parade’s theme. Categories include the Mayor’s Award, Grand Marshal’s Award, Spirit Award, and the new Holiday Helper Awards, which honor individuals and groups that make significant volunteer contributions to the parade.
For those looking to enhance their parade experience, there will be a "Friends of the Parade" ticket package that will go on sale starting October 28, offering exclusive benefits such as reserved parking, seating in a designated bleacher area, and free hot chocolate and other drinks. This package is available in two tiers: VIP Gold for $75, which accommodates four people; and VIP Silver for $50, covering two individuals.
