Pasadena invited to make a beeline to the International Bacon Fest
Pasadena bacon lovers may wish to grab their cutlery and head to an event that has been planned with them in mind.
Foodies from all over will be participating in the International Bacon Fest, which celebrates this salty treat, as well as other dishes made using pork. Foods from all over the world will be featured, including the “swineapple’, which is a grilled pineapple filled with pulled pork and wrapped in bacon.
While bacon will take pride of place during the festivities, they are about a lot more than just food. This family friendly event will also offer carnival style rides and games, live music, eating contests and much more. A pig pen will be set up on site so that people can learn more about where their food comes from, and while the kids participate in their activities, those over 21 can sample some of the bacon inspired drinks that will be crafted by the festival’s mixologists.
Some of the proceeds from the evening will be used to help fund the Texas Lions Camp, which provides a positive camping experience for children with diabetes, cancer, physical disability and other challenges. A local printer can supply an assortment of promotional drinkware for a large fundraising event such as this.
