Pasadena area plans blood donation drive

An upcoming Pasadena area activity will soon be giving community members an opportunity to become an everyday hero, and all they have to do is roll up their sleeves.

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center has partnered with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to organize and host a blood donation drive. It offers a way to make a difference to others, and those who contribute may even save a life.

Anyone who would like to get involved can choose their arrival time, with slots available every 15 minutes. Each can accommodate up to two persons. When a donor arrives, they will be greeted, registered and then it will be time to make their donation. After this, they will be encouraged to rest for a minute and receive some light refreshments before they go about the rest of their day as normal. All blood types have been strongly encouraged to participate.

To thank the public for lending a hand with this event., each person who contributed will receive a free individual membership to the Arboretum. Flyers and other mailers often offer an economical and effective way of spreading the word about a community service activity, and they can be ordered from a flyer printing company.

The Arboretum Blood Drive has been scheduled for June 11, and the mobile collection unit will be rolling in at 10:00 am. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center’s Digital Donor Portal contains more details and a chance to reserve a timeslot.
