What's Happening in Pasadena, TX…

Pasadena area fundraiser to promote native plants

The Houston Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas helps to preserve biodiversity through a variety of grassroots level projects, and a call has been put out seeking support for its signature fundraiser.

Dubbed ‘Wildscapes Workshop’, this annual event, which will take place near Pasadena, will be a day filled with learning, and several guest speakers will be addressing the attendees. The event will be focused on utilizing native plants in gardens across the state, as well as reintroducing them to their former habitats, and everyone will be welcome.

To help make the fundraiser a success, the planners have put out a request to the area’s corporate community, and also individuals who care about the environment, seeking sponsorships. This can be in the form of a monetary contribution or a gift in kind, and there are various levels on offer. In addition to this, donations can be made as an “add on” when reserving tickets for the event.

The not-for-profit world often depends upon the generosity of a community's businesses to help fund activities. These groups may choose to thank them for this financial assistance by including their sponsor’s logo design on their promotional products.

The 2022 Wildscapes Plant Workshop Day, which will include a pop-up market and book sale, is scheduled for September 17. The West Loop Center campus of Houston Community College will be the venue for the day.
