Master Gardeners plant sale coming to Pasadena

Green thumbs from Pasadena and the surrounding areas are invited to come to a sale where they can browse through and purchase plants that have been specially selected for the local conditions.

The Harris County Master Gardeners organization will be hosting the day, which will focus on fruit trees and tomatoes. A range of cultivars from an assortment of species will be available for purchase, including peaches, several types of citrus, pears, berries, avocados and bamboo. All have been bred to thrive in the local climatic conditions, and according to the event’s organizers, they can’t be purchased at a local nursery or garden center. Graphic design can be used to create signage and other items for an event like this.

Horticultural experts will be on hand to give advice and answer any questions from the public, and also to assist in plant selection. A limited number of wagons will be made available to help shoppers carry their selections while they browse through the plants and displays, so those who plan on coming out may wish to bring their own.

The Harris County Master Gardener’s plant sale has been scheduled to take place on February 18th in Pasadena’s Campbell Hall. It will run form 9:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a plant preview taking place that morning from 8:00 am until 9:00 am. Anyone with questions or who would like further information can obtain it by calling 281-855-5600.
