What's Happening in Pasadena, TX…

Gardening workshop on the agenda for Pasadena

The community of Pasadena has a climate that is conducive to growing a variety of fruits and vegetables, and as part of an area workshop, residents will receive a wealth of knowledge about how to make the most from the local growing conditions.

The ‘Gardening 101’ class will explore the topic of home gardening right from the ground on up. It will include details about creating and preparing a bed and soil so that it will be highly productive, and there are many other areas that will be discussed as well.

Once the details of creating a vegetable patch has been reviewed, the workshop will move on to choosing which plants to include. The students will learn which species and varieties do well in the Pasadena area and when to plant them, and there will be time to ask questions as well.

This event has been planned as the first in a series that will be offered by On the Grow, and these have been designed so that they will build upon one another. Booklets and other handouts for this sort of occasion can be prepared by local print shops.

The ‘Gardening 101’ class will be on offer on August 11th, and it will be held at 6225 Northdale Street in Houston. Anyone who has questions can contact the organizer through its website.
