The 31st annual Young Texas Artists Music Competition (YTA) has started accepting applications.
Hosted by the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society and with its final taking place in Conroe, the competition is open to Texas residents between 18 and 32 years of age, or people enrolled in music school, university, or college in the state. Monetary prizes totaling $20,000, as well professional performance opportunities, will be handed to the winners.
Contestants have four possible divisions to select from: voice, strings, piano, and an eclectic division comprised of guitar, harp, percussion, wind, and brass. A written critique of their performance will be provided to each competitor from the panel of judges.
The preliminary judging is free to the public and takes place on March 12, 13, and 14. On the evening of March 14, the top two in each group will compete for silver and gold medals at the Finalists’ Concert and Awards. Also presented will be the grand prize and audience choice awards.
In addition to the Finalists’ Concert and Awards, the ‘Bach, Beethoven, and Barbecue’ gala is taking place the same evening at the same venue; the Crighton Theatre here in Conroe. To make an event such as this one a success often means utilizing a variety of advertising options available from a professional printing company.
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2014. Any Forms or fees received after that date will not be accepted.Get a Free Quote for Forms
