Conroe’s Parks & Recreation Department will be bringing two summer favorite programs back again this year.
Four movies are scheduled for Movies in the Park. The family-oriented evenings will begin tomorrow, May 12, with Sonic 2. On Friday, May 19, the movie will be Moana; June 9’s screening will be Puss and Boots the Last Wish, and on June 16 guests can enjoy Tom and Jerry the Movie. Admission will be free, and concessions will be available for purchase. Everyone is advised to bring blankets or chairs. The movies will begin at dusk around 8:15 pm at Heritage Place, 500 Metcalf.
Heritage Place will also present a Thursday Free Concert Series beginning June 1 with Escape, which is a Journey tribute band. On July 6, the crowd can enjoy Walter Suhr & Mango Punch!, and on August 3, Adam Grant will present a Tribute to Garth Brooks. The series will end on September 7 with a Tribute to Bon Jovi with Let It Rock. Beverages and food may be brought in or purchased from trucks. The concerts begin at 7:00 pm and end around 8:30 pm.
Towns that support free events such as these often have pictures taken during the events. These photos may go to local Print shops to be made into promotional Posters and put into visitor guides.
