Conroe will get to enjoy the 31st Conroe Catfish Festival in mid-October.
Downtown Conroe will be teeming for three days with family-friendly events, including the annual Catfish Pageant. There will be a Kids Zone and local vendors will be hawking Cajun classic cuisine and carnival treats. Exhibits will be displayed by local education and community organizations. Three stages will feature local entertainers, dance teams, and community groups.
A professional carnival will offer rides, games and concessions. Carnival times will be Thursday from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm, Friday from 6:00 pm until midnight, Saturday from 11:00 am until midnight, and Sunday from noon until 10:00 pm.
The Cajun Fine Arts Village will feature original arts and crafts such as photography, wood, clay, digital arts, and jewelry that will be on display and for sale. Artisans that bring their works to events such as this usually bring plenty of Business Cards so they have their contact information ready if any passers-by ask.
Catfish Festival tickets went on sale online last Friday, September 4, and must be obtained in advance as no tickets will be available at the gate. General admission will be $15 and kids under 13 can get in free. Three-day passes will be available for $20.
Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival will be held from 6:00 pm until midnight on Friday, October 9, from 11:00 am until midnight on Saturday, October 10, and from noon until 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 11 in Downtown Conroe.
