An important date on many locals’ Calendars, Chinese New Year is right around the corner and Conroe will have the opportunity to celebrate it in style at nearby Woodlands.
This will be the Year of the Monkey, and although the event is targeted towards children, everyone is invited to celebrate the occasion.
The venue will have decorations in traditional colors. Children can enjoy the many art projects such as Chinese firecrackers, a coin tree, zodiac Print making, and paper cutting. Calligraphy demonstrations will be presented by the Woodlands High School Chinese Club.
Everyone will want to participate in the games, and special performances will be presented by the Houston Lion Kings Lion Dancers and by Lee’s Golden Dragon. The event will be sponsored by the Kid to Kid Door to More of the Woodlands, which is a local children’s resale clothing store.
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, January 30, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Woodland Children’s Museum, 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280 Panther Creek Village Center (located on Gosling Road off the Woodlands Parkway). Although the event will be free, guests will need to pay the museum’s admission fee, which is $5 per person. Children under two years old get in free. All children must have adults over the age of 18 with them.
