Hosted by Freedom Boat Club Lak Conroe and Lake Conroe-LIVE, local businesses, families, and boats will converge on Lake Conroe for the annual Christmas Boat parade coming in a couple of weeks.
Boats can register their fully lighted decorated crafts for $40 online at the Lake Conroe-LIVE Facebook page and are asked to donate gifts costing $10 or more for children from the ages of 2 to 14. All entries are asked to attend a complimentary Captain’s Breakfast on the morning of the parade.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Children’s Safe Harbor Organization, an organization working with abused children ages 2 to 17. This year, the event will also host a few Conroe families on Waterpoint Marina’s charter yacht “Little Palm.” All proceeds from the sale of the event’s LED T shirts featuring the parade’s Logo Design will go to Montgomery County Precinct 1-Marine Division, which provides security and public safety for Lake Conroe.
Along with the colorful boats on the lake, fireworks will light up the skies above the lake. Viewing locations for both the parade and fireworks will be posted around the lake.
First and second place in the best decorated craft contest will receive prizes donated by local businesses, clubs and associations.
Lake Conroe Christmas Boat Parade will take place on Lake Conroe, December 11, starting at 5:30 pm. An after party will be at Margaritaville Lake Resort, 600 Margaritaville Parkway, Montgomery.
