Many Conroe businesses, and local organizations will soon be gearing up for the 60th annual Go Texan Parade coming toward the end of February 2025.
The parade is one of the kickoff events for the 93rd Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (to be held from March 4th through the 23rd) and will feature marching and walking units, horses and floats. This year's theme will be "Celebrating Texas Heritage."
Floats will be judged on creativity, use of theme, display of community spirit and Texas culture, craftsmanship, overall appearance and participant interaction.
The procession will begin at the intersection of Metcalf and North Frazier Street, go east on Metcalf to Main Street in Downtown Conroe.
Registration for general parade entries is $50, free for non-profit organizations and youth entries and $100 for political entries.
Many units that march in parades such as this often go to local Print shops and have some banner printing done beforehand. These Banners introduce the unit to the spectators.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has pledged $28 million to aid students during 2025.
The 2025 Go Texan Parade will step off in Downtown Conroe on Saturday, February 22nd and march from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
