An October date has been set for this year’s Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival.
A favorite sport of Texans, the event consists of three days of fun activities, such as arts and crafts, exhibits, kids’ games, demonstrations, music, and a food feast. Approximately 80 vendors and more than a dozen food booths will be participating this year.
Fishing poles are not needed as the catfish will be on the grill. In addition to the local fish favorite, there will be shrimp, frog legs, alligator, gumbo, sausage, chicken, rice, and red beans. The dishes will be presented in true Cajun style.
The Kidz Zone is open to children, where they can enjoy a lively environment with special dance team performances and entertainers. Over 450 performers typically fill the stage throughout the weekend’s event.
Part of the fun is the much anticipated carnival, which presents many rides for all ages. Of course, there will be tempting carnival food available as well. Entrance to the Kidz Zone and Carnival is free.
The Mr. and Mrs. Catfish pageant is one of the most popular events of the festival. Participants can pay the entry fee and participate in the pageant following the rules of the program.
