The Conroe Parks and Recreation Department is still scheduling its yearly summer First Thursday Concert Series.
The first one will be May 7, featuring the Journey tribute band “Escape.
“Christina” will be a Queen of Tejano tribute band performing on June 4. “Christina Amaro presents a high-energy interactive show as the beloved Selena, belting out genres likes Latin rock, pop, reggaeton, merengue, bachata, Tejano, salsa, and cumbia.
Country artist Bri Bagwell will take the stage for the July 2 performance. Bagwell writes her own songs and accompanies herself on an acoustic guitar. Fans of artists like her often go to the artist’s web stores to purchase Promotional Products such as hats, tank tops, T-Shirts, koozies and coolers.
Derek Spence will pay tribute to George Strait on August 6. One anecdote says that some attendees at a reception held for him after a concert at the University of Texas Austin asked if he was the real George Strait.
An Eagles Tribute band, Already Gone, will end the regularly scheduled series on September 3. The Garth Books tribute band, Ropin’ the Wind, that was scheduled for April, has been moved to October 1.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and may bring in soda, water and food or purchase concessions onsite.
All concerts will be free and take place at Heritage Place, 500 Metcalf, Conroe from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
