Festival to cook up a good time

The Kookin' for Kids Go Texan Music Festival is being held in Conroe over two days next month. It is hosted by the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee.

The festival will feature 11 bands and artists from Texas, including Desert Roads Band, Justin Jones, Heather Rayleen, and Treynwrek. There will be a Kid Zone with clowns and face painting and food for purchase.

Another big part of the festival will be the BBQ Cookoff, for which participants paid $150 to enter and to provide the public with a taste of their food. Visitors can purchase a barbecue sandwich and chips for $5.

Vendors and arts and crafters will also be selling their wares during the two-day event. Fees for a 10 x 10-foot space are $50 or $60 with air conditioning.

Participants in the BBQ Cookoff will no doubt want to let their current customers know they are taking part in this event. To help make sure as many people as possible know about it, many may invest in flyer printing services from their favorite Conroe printing firm.

The festival will take place at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds Event Hall from September 18 to 19. Admission is $10 for adults (or $100 for 12) and $5 for children aged 12 and under. Contact Lorynda Travis at 936-537-8257 for more information.
