Festival celebrates lumberjacks and BBQ

The Texas Sawmill Festival is being held this June in New Caney, and is a presentation of the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

This event will have something to appeal to every in the family, with a Kids' Fun Zone allowing young people to be entertained by a petting zoo, a climbing rock wall, and other activities. There will be music from Billy Joe Shaver, Sundance Head, Jason Cassidy, and others, along with a barbecue cook-off, and food and drink available for purchase.

There is also the Cuttin' Loose Car Show, which anyone can enter to compete for prizes in several categories. Other contests include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show and heavy logging equipment competitions.

Vendors will be on hand to sell a variety of merchandise and arts and crafts, while several will just be hosting exhibition booths with no selling. It is also likely that some local nonprofit community organizations will be providing information about their programs and services.

Families from all over the area, including those from nearby Conroe, will probably want to attend this festival. Investing in flyer printing services may ensure a healthy turnout.

The Texas Sawmill Festival will be held at Bull Sallas Park on June 6 from 10:00 am to 10:00 PM. Admission is free. For the most up to date information about this event, call 281-354-0051.
