The 55th Annual Go Texan Parade will march through downtown Conroe toward the end of February. This year’s theme will be “Cowboy Boots & Country Roots.”
Spectators will be lining the streets watching horses, floats, decorated vehicles, and youth and nonprofit walking and marching units. Units in parades such as this usually like to sign up early enough to have time to get any banner printing completed.
The parade will start at the corner of N. Frazier Street and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. It will go up N. Frazier Street and turn right onto Simonton and turn on left onto Newton. It will turn right onto Phillips and right again onto San Jacinto. It then turns left onto Simonton and continues on to Thompson. At the intersection Thompson and Simonton, the procession will turn left, and at the parking garage it will turn right onto Cochran and right on N. Main. At Metcalf, the parade will turn right and head for the finish line at N. Frazier.
Registration to be part of the parade will remain open until February 14. There will be a $50 charge for the first vehicle and a $10 for the trailer. Youth and nonprofit entries will be free.
Parade participants and spectators are asked not to park in the Juror or First Baptist Church parking lots.
The 55th Go Texan Parade will take place rain or shine on Saturday, February 22, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
