Many Conroe runners and walkers are expected at the Outrun Hunger 5k Trail Run/Walk and 1k Color Dash coming in early June.
The 5k will be a timed run/walk on grass and dirt running trails. Registration is $50. Swag will include T-Shirts sporting the event's colorful Outrun Hunger graphic design and participant medal. The 5k will begin at 9:00 am.
The 1k Color Run will be an untimed event with a route on a paved course. Along with each $30 entry fee, and shirt, swag will include a color packet. The start time for this race will be 10:00 am.
Awards will go top team and individual fundraisers, fastest team in the 5k, largest team, and the most team spirit. Runner awards will go to the top overall female and male finishers and Masters Overall winners in the 5k, and for the winners in the 13 age groups.
The event will be a fundraiser for the Montgomery County Food Bank, a local non-profit organization offering over eight million meals throughout the county yearly.
The party pavilion will open for packet pickup and registration, which will begin the event at 8:00 am. That will be followed with a group warmup at 8:45 am. Awards ceremonies will begin at 10:30 am.
The Outrun Hunger 5k and Color Run will take place Saturday, June 8 at The Lake House at Grand Central Park, 1039 Lake House Dr.
