The local Conroe High School Golden Girls Booster Club will be hosting its annual Cowboy Supper at the end of February. One of the highlights of the event will be the Pie Contest.
This year’s barbeque supper will be catered by Camp Fuego Cookers, who will be providing side dishes to complement it.
The evening will also have performance by the CHS Cantare Choir, the GBT Jazz Band, and the Golden Girls. There will be raffles and a live auction where proceeds will go toward Line of Gold Scholarships.
The Pie Contest will have a $10 entry fee, and will be judged by a panel of local celebrities. The panel will be judging the pies on presentation, originality, and taste. The winner may want to have a picture taken for future poster printing. Proceeds from this and the supper will go to support the CHS Golden Girls.
One raffle ticket will be included in the $10 supper tickets. The grand prize will be a Rivergrille Ranchers Grill. Extra raffle tickets will cost $5.
The Golden Girls is Conroe High School’s drill team. Since 1969, the girls have participated in competitions, community service, and performances. For the last 12 years, the girls have been directed by Mrs. Amanda Bond.
The supper and pie contest will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, February 25, in the CHS Cafeteria, 3200 West Davis Street, Conroe. There will also be a drive-thru option.
