The 2016 Montie Awards and Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony now, in its fifth year, will be coming to town in just a few days.
The ceremony had previously been held at the Owen Theater for the last three years, but has shifted to its new venue. However, the formal evening will still have a red carpet, spotlights, and a live orchestra.
Presenters of the solid bronze statuettes will be passing them out to winners in categories including Best Scenic Design, Best Hair and Makeup, Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, Best Costume/Wardrobe Design, Best Featured Actress in a Comedy or Drama, Best Lead Actress in a Comedy or Drama, Best Props, Best Show of the Year, and Best Music Direction. Friends and family of this year’s nominees will no doubt want to get some shots of the winners with their Monties for future poster printing.
Performers for the evening will include Charlie McCoy, Courtney Locke, Sara Priesler, plus others who will continue to be announced up until show time.
The $10 tickets will get the purchaser into the event and into the after party immediately following it. The party will feature refreshments and a big band orchestra for dancing.
The event will be held at the Crighton Theater, 234 North Main Street, Saturday, August 13 starting at 8:00 pm here in town.
