The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival will be here in the middle of the month.
This will be the 27th year for the three-day event, during which 22 performances on two stages will have nonstop national, regional, and local entertainment. This event usually draws between 30,000 and 40,000 people.
Cajun favorites and traditional festivities will be offered by local vendors, and artisans will be selling their arts and crafts. A professional carnival will be offering rides and games, while community and educational groups will have exhibits.
The Mr. And Miss Catfish Pageant will have winners who will receive Banners, crowns, and trophies. The kids’ area will feature fun rides, a petting zoo, a Monster Mural, and pony rides.
Music will be of the bayou and zydeco variety, and artists will include Pat Green, Cory Morrow, JB and the Moonshine Band, Johnny Lee, Parker McCollum, Sundance Head, and Cody Jinks. The second stage will be reserved for community groups, local dance teams, and local entertainers.
The event is scheduled, as always, for the second weekend in October which will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 14, 15, and 16. Friday’s hours will be from 6:00 pm to midnight, Saturdays will be 11:00 am until midnight, and on Sunday the festival will open at noon and close at 6:00 pm. Donating two or more canned goods at the gate will get the bearer a $1 discount on an admission ticket.
