Those that wish to support the Montgomery County American Cancer Society will be raising donations for this year’s Relay for Life of Montgomery County and Bark for Life coming in early September.
Interested parties are invited to sign up and get a fundraising app to help them spread the word. The first 15 participants to raise $100 online will receive cooling towels sporting the Relay’s Logo Design.
This year, the local chapter will be having a Vendor Fair instead of the usual event. Along with the fundraising, educating the public and celebrating accomplishments, this fair will offer space to vendors and small businesses so they can get their products and services out to the public.
Items for sale will include ceramics and crafts from Bridgewood Farms (a group supporting adults and teens with special needs), hand-made fall decorations, fused and stained glass jewelry, snowmen, and gnomes. Supporting businesses will include Chick-fil-A, Mary K and Avon consultants, Karissa’s cake in a jar, Artisan Woodworks of Magnolia, and Angie’s Bits o’Glass.
Pet businesses supporting the Cancer Bark for Life will include Montgomery Pet Sitter, Crittersitter of Montgomery, Montgomery County 4-H and Fish Creek Animal Hospital.
The Relay for Life and Bark for Life will take place this Saturday, September 11 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at 9325 Airport Road. The proceeds from the event go to cancer research, education, health equity, and advocacy.
