Children aged three and older are invited to attend a one-day special holiday event at the beginning of December.
The story of Clara and her beloved Nutcracker will be performed by the Houston Dance Theater and the LSC University Park Drama Department. Over 150 guests are expected to attend.
The family friendly ballet performance has been adapted to introduce the younger set to the classic ballet. Excerpts from ‘The Nutcracker and Mouse King’ will be read by members of the college drama department.
At the conclusion of the ballet and recitation snippet, Conroe children will get to meet and get autographs from the performance characters such as Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and the Rat King. Pictures may be taken at this time, and might make for memorable Holiday Cards for family and friends. Before the performance the little ones and their adults will get to have high tea with the Sugar Plum Fairy. This will consist of tea, sandwiches, a hot chocolate bar, sweets, and holiday cookies.
Professional pictures can be ordered for $10 each when tickets are purchased online. Story Books depicting the story, colorful costumes, and sets of the production will be available at the event.
The performance and tea will be December 4, starting at 2:00 pm at the Black Box Theater at Lone Star College Park in Houston.
