The Texas Wildlife & Woodland Expo and Spring Fling will give all of us a chance to get outside and discover, explore, and learn about our state’s flora and fauna.
The event will focus on our natural environment, and the role healthy pollinators, wildlife, and trees have on our clean air and water.
The Healthy Forest area will be giving away trees, and experts will be discussing beneficial insects, proper pruning, and soil exploration.
The Habitat area will have people talking about native grasses. They will also be discussing gardening issues such as how to attract birds, bees and butterflies.
Water conservation, and design and harvesting rainwater will be covered in the Clean Air and Water area. The Ecosystem Balance area will be discussing designs that benefit both nature and people.
Government agencies, businesses, nonprofits, environmental, and educational groups will be setting up booths.
The Family Adventure Zone will have kids digging for earthworms, kayaking, making birdhouses, and using the archery range. They can climb a rock wall, observe a live snake and screech owl, and meet Smokey and the Bear.
Volunteers will be getting lunch tickets and T-Shirts sporting the event Logo Design when they arrive at 8:30 am.
The Texas Wildlife & Woodland Expo will be Saturday, March 2 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Lone Star College-Montgomery, 3200 College Park Drive.
